The #ALTC24 Call for Proposals is open until 17:00 BST Thursday 9 May 2024 and proposals are invited that focus on the principles of “doing, reflecting, improving, and collaborating”. 

ALT is pleased to announce the launch of our very first CMALT Committee, in response to the continuing growth of the number of Certified Members and CMALT Assessors.

We are thrilled to announce the return of the ALT Annual Conference to Manchester. From 3 - 5 September 2024, we will once again convene the vibrant Learning Technology community at this unmissable event.

• Models of learning in the UK
• Biggest challenge for digital transformation

In 2020, at the beginning of the partnership between ALT and Ufi, we set out with the aim to ‘grow AmplifyFE into a successful Community of Practice for vocational teaching staff to acquire and develop the digital, and digital pedagogical skills they need to thrive in vocational education.’  Little did we know then that shortly after the inception of the project a global pandemic would catapult vocational teaching staff to the forefront of emergency education

ALT’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) bring together our Members around a common theme or topic. SIGs are an important way for ALT’s Members to share, collaborate, develop and pursue their interests with their peers.

Current SIGs include groups focussed on active learning, anti-racism, copyright, evaluation of learners' experiences and open education. If there is a topic you would like to see established as a SIG, we encourage you to submit a proposal and become an Officer of the Group.

The Association for Learning Technology has joined the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’s Directory of Professional and Employer-led Bodies (The ‘Employer Directory’) to help shape the future of apprenticeships and technical education.

Throughout 2024 we plan to hold regular CPD webinars, exclusively available to ALT members and free to attend.

OER24 will bring together the strong Irish Open Education movement and international participants to leverage our shared expertise for change in policy and practice.

In response to the growing number of Certified Members and CMALT Assessors, ALT plans to launch a CMALT Committee in 2024.

The committee will contribute to the improvement of the CMALT accreditation scheme and assessment process, and we are currently looking for Members to form this committee.

The ALT Awards have recognized and celebrated excellent research and practice and outstanding achievement in Learning Technology since its introduction in 2007. Setting a benchmark for exceptional achievements in Learning Technology on a national level, the awards attract competitive entries from both the UK and internationally.
