Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring OER25 in London. We’re continuing the conversation with an online full day follow-up event, Open Education, AI, and Populism – Revisited, on Tuesday, 16 September 2025. This virtual event will build upon the themes and discussions from the Open Education Conference. We'd love for you to be part of it. Submit a proposal for a session by the extended deadline of Midnight, on Monday, 4 August.
Proposals may revisit or expand upon presentations from OER25, or offer new contributions aligned with the ongoing conference themes. Themes from OER25 include equity and social justice, open practice during times of change, and the politics of openness in the age of AI, remain at the heart of this event. We welcome critical reflections, theoretical explorations, and practice-based insights.
We are seeking submissions for the following session formats:
- 60 minute workshops - In-depth interactive sessions designed for group work and discussion
- 60 minute panel discussions - Discussion based structured conversations with multiple speakers
- 30 minute presentations - An informative session or update on a topic relevant to the conference theme
- 30 minute research papers - Presentations on a published or in-progress piece of research
- 15 minute digital poster session - Quickfire sessions, using a single poster slide.
You’ll find more information and submission guidelines on the submission form.
If you have any questions or ideas you’d like to discuss, feel free to get in touch at conference@alt.ac.uk.
