Become a Trustee of ALT

We're excited to share that we have several trustee roles available in 2025. As set out in our constitution, some of these roles will be filled by appointment and some will be decided by elections.  All successful candidates will take up their positions at the Annual General Meeting in October 2025. If you're passionate about shaping our future, this is your chance to get involved and make a difference.

What is involved in being a trustee

Our trustees play a vital role in ensuring that ALT achieves its charitable objectives by;

  • overseeing the management, governance and administration of the charity.
  • ensuring that ALT has a clear strategy and that our activities are in line with our vision and values.
  • collaborating with and challenging the executive team to enable ALT to grow and thrive, and through this, support our members.

All candidates for trustee roles must be members of ALT in good standing for at least 12 months and 18 years old or older.

Elected trustee vacancies

ALT will be holding elections for two trustee positions in 2025. Find out more about the role and who we are looking for in the Trustee Role Description.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee, please complete this nomination form explaining why members should vote for you or the person you are nominating, along with the names of a proposer and a seconder, who must both be members of ALT.

Submit your trustee nomination form by 9 AM on 13 August 2025

If more eligible nominations than vacancies are received, nominations will be shared publicly and the membership will vote for their preferred candidates. Elections of trustees are undertaken in line with ALT’s aims and values and in accordance with ALT’s policy on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Once appointments and elected candidates have been confirmed, new trustees will formally take on the role at ALT’s AGM in October 2025. The successful candidates will be supported with an induction and training.
