The ALT Awards 2025 are officially open for entries from Tuesday, 20 May 2025. Since their inception in 2007, these prestigious awards have celebrated excellence in Learning Technology. Now in their 19th year, the awards continue to set a national benchmark, attracting competitive entries from across the UK and beyond. 

This year, we’re proud to present seven awards covering leadership in digital education, ethical practice, digital transformation, and adult education. Alongside our six panel chosen awards, we are also welcoming entries to our Community Choice Award, voted for by our ALT Members. Do you have an inspiring project or achievement to share? Now’s your chance to submit your entry and showcase your work to our community. The deadline for entries is Monday, 14 July 2025.

How to enter

Entry forms can be found below. Please complete the correct entry form for the award category you wish to enter by Monday, 14 July 2025. You can find the full entry criteria on our website. If you have any questions regarding your entry, please contact us at awards@alt.ac.uk

Each entry is eligible to enter the Community Choice Award, and you can specify on your entry form whether you want to be included in this. 

Whether you’re an individual, a team, or an institution, we encourage you to submit your entry and join the ranks of those shaping the future of Learning Technology. You can get a good insight into the awards by taking a look at last year’s winners.
 

Meet the ALT Awards Judging Panel for 2025 

To ensure fair and expert evaluation, the ALT Awards judging panel for 2025 is led by David White, President of ALT, alongside past award winners, ALT Trustees, and ALT Members who expressed interest through an open call at the end of 2024. Here’s a look at the distinguished panel for each award:

  • ALT Award for Teams/Institutions: Ruth Powell, University of the Arts London: Alicia Moreno Gimenez, Lancaster University; Gearoid O'Suilleabhain, Munster Technological University; Shane Cronin, Munster Technological University
  • ALT Award for Individuals: Heather Serdar, LDN Apprenticeships; Salimeh Pour Mohammad, Warwick Business School; Lisa Bradley, Queen’s University Belfast; Laura Milne, University of Chester.
  • ALT Award for Digital Transformation (in partnership with Jisc): Denise Sweeney, University of Nottingham; Matt Wingfield, Independent EdTech Consultant; Sarah Knight, Jisc;  Kelly Gilman, Jisc.
  • ALT Award for Leadership in Digital Education: Richard Walker, University of York; Sharmen Ibrahim, Activate Learning; Claire Stocks, University of Chester; Steph Comley, University of Exeter
  • ALT Award for Technology in Adult Education  (in partnership with Ufi Voctech Trust): Zoe Tierney, Burton & South Derbyshire College; Gabrielle Madders, Ufi VocTech Trust; David White, President of ALT
  • ALT Award for Case Studies in Ethical EdTech: Matt Jevons, University of Leeds; Emma Dibb, University of Leeds; Nurun Nahar, University of Greater Manchester; Clare Thomson, Heriot-Watt University 
  • ALT Community Choice Awards: This award allows our Member community to vote for their winning entry amongst all of the categories. Voting will open on 25 August 2025.

 

The winners will be celebrated at the ALT Annual Conference 2025 in Glasgow, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this incredible event.
