The next ALT Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place at 16.45 on 12 September 2018 at Manchester Place, the University of Manchester during the ALT Annual Conference. Members are encouraged are to come to the AGM even if not attending the conference - just get in touch to request an AGM pass. There are also proxy voting arrangements - so everyone can take part.
Before the AGM, here are some Highlights from the Annual Report for the last year (1st February 2017 to 31st January 2018), it’s been a busy year, during which:
“our community has worked hard to achieve our aims for Members and for public benefit, too.”
(Sheila MacNeill, Chair of ALT)
So what have we been doing?
-
We launched our current strategy after wide consultation with members.
-
We become a fully virtual, distributed, organisation employing our staff directly.
-
ALT continues to be highly participatory - the current committee for the Annual Conference has over 90 volunteers.
-
As part of our ongoing commitment to openness, our Journal Research in Learning Technology was successfully moved to an open access publication partnership.
-
Alongside the established Learning Technologist of the Year Awards we have launched a new Learning Technology Research Project of the Year Award.
-
Our professional accreditation scheme CMALT continues to grow 400th CMALT holder was accredited.
-
We are expanding the CMALT accreditation framework with two additional pathways to professional recognition for:
-
Associate Learning Technology professionals, for those early in their career or where Learning Technology is only one aspect of a role.
-
Senior Professionals in management, leadership or research positions.
-
As our strategy clearly states, we are greater than the sum of our parts. In 2017 we celebrated two membership milestones; the 400th CMALT Award and the growth of overall Membership to over 3000. This increase in numbers is making our voice in policy development stronger than ever before.
Members are invited to read the Highlights from the Annual Report - to gain an insight into the many activities of ALT - if you are not already involved - take a look and see what inspires you.
