The Future of Learning

ITN Productions Industry News and the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) are co-producing The Future of Learning, a bespoke programme that will explore the benefits of technology to assist learning, training and development for staff, and highlighting the importance of the Edtech sector.

The collaborative programme will look at the multifaceted role that learning technologists play in both online and face-to-face learning, and the value that technology brings.  As a sector often associated with increased automation and reduced human interaction, The Future of Learning will demonstrate how in the education sector, technology will never replace the role of human educators.

Anchored by an ITN Productions News presenter The Future of Learning will showcase the latest technology initiatives in online learning that are supporting the industry, as well as addressing changes in government policy.  It will look at digital poverty, online assessment and cheating and student experience encompassing virtual open days and staff digital skills.

Edech has accelerated during the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of technology to the online learning community has greatly increased. The programme will look at the great work being done by the sector and highlight the existing technology that has been fast tracked to support the influx of learners and ultimately, keep education moving during the crisis.

An ITN Productions News reporter will lead a report on the significance and variety of online communities, from webinars and courses, teaching resources and student support. The collaborative news-style programme will feature students and their teachers to explain the values of these communities and how they support not only their learning but also their health and wellbeing.

The Future of Learning will launch at ALT’s Annual Conference in August 2021 and will be supported by an extensive campaign involving ALT’s members and professional networks.
