Dear ALT Members,

Season’s Greetings from the Trustees and staff of the Association for Learning Technology.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the Association. This year we have welcomed 790 new members, and as the Association grows your engagement becomes ever more important in helping us to strengthen our voice and increase our impact. Next year will see the publication of the ALT 2017-2020 strategy and if you haven’t already your input and feedback is crucial in shaping the direction of ALT and strengthening our voice. If you haven’t already, please do take a moment to complete our Annual Survey go.alt.ac.uk/ALTSurvey2016, which this year includes an oppourtunity to inform the 2017-2020 strategy.

Looking ahead to the new year we have a full schedule of events, member-led activities from our growing list of ALT Members Groups and SIGs. Dates for your diary include OER17: The Politics of Open 5 & 6 April 2016 in London which features keynotes from Maha Bali, American University in Cairo, and Lucy Crompton-Reid, Wikimedia UK, and the ALT Annual Conference 2017 4 - 7 September 2017 taking place for the first time in Liverpool (the call for proposals will be published in January). As part of the Annual Conference we celebrate the ALT Learning Technologist of the Year which is open to individual and teams. This is the 11th year of the awards and look out for the call for applications in May 2017. You can keep up to date with all these activities via the email digest, the ALT News section of the website and by following the #altc Twitter hashtag or the #ALTC Blog.

ALT is closed from 23 Dec - 2 Jan inclusive. If your email is urgent, please forward your message to enquiries@alt.ac..uk which will be monitored every few days even while ALT is closed.

For now we wish you happy holidays and all the best for 2017!
