Playful Learning Conference Call for Papers

Playful Learning Conference 2017 logo

The second Playful Learning conference, based at Manchester Metropolitan University and organised in conjunction with the ALT Playful Learning SIG (formerly Games and Learning SIG), will be running from 12 to 14 July 2017. Playful Learning is pitched at the intersection of learning and play for adults. Playful in approach and outlook, yet underpinned by robust research and working practices, the group provides a space where teachers, researchers and students can play, learn and think together - a space to meet other playful people and be inspired by talks, workshops, activities and events.

Their ethos is to break the traditional conference mould, and programme a range of different types of talks and activities, from research paper discussions to live gaming role play events, with the aim to encourage participants to play with the conference format and try something new.

Submissions are encouraged in all areas relating to playful learning in adult education, including – but not limited to – higher and further education, playful workplaces, and lifelong learning. Proposers for any session will be invited to publish their work in a special Playful Learning edition of the Research in Learning Technology journal.

The call for papers closes on 17 February. See the Call for Papers for more information.
