The Association for Learning Technology (ALT) is delighted to welcome three new Trustees to the Board: Michael Day as Vice Chair, alongside Joe Wilson and Owain Roberts, who join the Board as Trustees. Their appointment comes as ALT enters an important new chapter, with work underway to finalise a new strategy that will guide the Association through to 2030.
As this is a busy time of year for many colleagues, we are extending the deadline to submit Expressions of Interest for the roles of Vice-Chair or Trustee on ALT’s Board to Monday 3 November 2025 at 9:00 AM. We hope this additional time allows members to fully consider this exciting opportunity to contribute to ALT’s strategic leadership.
We're excited to share that we have several trustee roles available in 2025. As set out in our constitution, some of these roles will be filled by appointment and some will be decided by elections. All successful candidates will take up their positions at the Annual General Meeting in October 2025. If you're passionate about shaping our future, this is your chance to get involved and make a difference.
The election will be carried out for ALT by the Electoral Reform Services. Eligible Members will receive voting instructions via email. Voting closes at 12 noon on Tuesday 16th August 2022.
The Board of Trustees has completed a year long review of our governance arrangements in order to ensure that our practice reflects the Charity Governance Code, which was updated at the end of 2020. The Board started planning for the review in February 2021 and the initial operational review was completed by the staff team in the subsequent six months.
Our 2022 Annual General Meeting, will be held in person and online at ALT Annual Conference, 7 September 2022, Manchester UK. All Members are encouraged to attend and the AGM is also open to guests and observers.
