ELESIG Digital shocks and border crossings: improving international students’ digital experience

The use of digital technologies is embedded throughout the student lifecycle from application through to graduation. With 680,000 international students studying in UK HE from over 200 different countries and territories, and a further 560,000 engaging in UK TNE hosted in over 230 countries, what do we know about international students' digital experience? By sharing the findings from the latest phase of Jisc's research exploring the digital experiences of over 2,000 international students studying in UK HE, Elizabeth Newall will invite you to consider your own engagement with, and support of, international students. There will be a focus on the methodology used to facilitate open and honest conversations with international students about their digital experiences and expectations. Finally, attendees will hear about the planned next phase of research investigating the digital experiences of TNE students, with an opportunity to participate. Interested colleagues are invited to complete Jisc’s TNE scoping survey, which remains open until 28 March.

Elizabeth Newall is a senior sector specialist (digital transformation) at Jisc.
