Exciting Opportunities: Chair the M25-LT Member Group or Digital Accessibility SIG

Call for Group Chairs: Submit your Expression of Interest

ALT is currently looking for enthusiastic members to step into leadership roles within the M25-LT Member Group and Digital Accessibility Special Interest Group. These roles provide excellent chances for professional growth and the opportunity to make significant contributions to our community.

In line with ALT Member Groups and SIGs, both groups uphold ALT’s values of participation, openness, collaboration, innovation, inclusivity, and transparency.

These volunteer roles have a tenure of three years and offer excellent opportunities for leadership development, including support for applications for Advance HE Fellowships and other CPD avenues. Nominees must be ALT members, either individually or through an institutional membership. Candidates can apply for multiple roles by submitting separate nominations for each.

  • M25-LT Member Group

The M25 Learning Technology Group (M25-LTG) is a regional forum primarily for Learning Technology staff in London Higher Education institutions, established in 2001. It became an ALT Regional Interest Group in May 2012.

Julie Voce, the current Chair of the M25-LT, will be stepping down in July 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, the group seeks someone to take over the role from April. It's important to note that the new Chair or Co-Chairs will be London-based to maintain close connections with the local community.

  • Digital Accessibility SIG

Established in September 2024, the Digital Accessibility SIG addresses the ongoing challenges of accessibility within the sector. Institutions face significant hurdles with compliance, as the law does not account for the complexities of large higher education institutions. This group aims to establish a consensus on best practices for digital accessibility, particularly regarding how to manage various compromises required for compliance. Sylwia, the current Co-Chair of the Digital Accessibility SIG, will be stepping down in April. The group is now seeking nominations for a new Co-Chair.
