Over the past decade, INASP (an international development organisation based in Oxford) has developed and implemented a wide range of technology enhanced learning (TEL) activities in the Global South, mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These activities have primarily been targeted at adults, and often graduates, working within knowledge and research systems such as universities, libraries, scholarly journals and academic societies. Earlier this year, we carried out a comprehensive meta-analysis study of our TEL activities. On the basis of our synthesis of INASP’s evidence, we tested six key assumptions prevalent in the academic literature around TEL in the Global South. In this presentation we w highlight the unique points in INASP’s TEL activities to advance knowledge and best practice in this area.
