Registration is closed for this event

Presentation slides and a recording of the session are now available from the ALT Repository.

A free webinar about OER and the OER13 conference.

ALT is pleased to be offering a free webinar with Professor Martin Weller, Professor Patrick McAndrew and Dr Chris Pegler. Martin will share his views and experiences around openness and OER and link this to international research that he and Patrick are leading through the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation funded OER Research Hub. Chris will chair the discussion and also provide a brief overview of OER13 (Nottingham, 26-27 March 2013) a conference supported by the ALT Open Education SIG. More information about OER13 is available here.

About the presenters:

Martin is well known for supporting and modelling open scholarship, one of the themes of his open access book 'The Digital Scholar'. He blogs as Ed Techie, and this recent post explains why he thinks that we are winning the battle to achieve open education. Patrick has led several extensive open educational research projects, including: OpenLearn, OLNET and now the OER Research Hub. Chris is co-chair of OER13, worked on OLNET and the SCORE projects and initiated the ORIOLE project. All three work in the Open University's Institute of Educational Technology.
