The Association for Learning Technology is partnering with the University of Northampton, an Organisational Member of ALT, on a collaborative, student-centred project.
ALT is currently looking to the future, with plans to broaden our reach, grow our membership and support everyone who uses learning technology in their professional life regardless of role or sector. In 2025, we’ll be launching our new strategic plan for 2025 to 2030. With this in mind, we asked University of Northampton final year students to analyse challenges and propose effective strategies from one of the following areas;
- ALT Membership Expansion
- AI Integration for enhancing ALT’s Communications
The projects we are offering focus on supporting the development of a member-focused strategic plan by improving our business operations and supporting our strategic goal of increasing membership.
Pablo Lirio Benitez, a final year Marketing student at the University of Northampton, has shared his thoughts on the project and reflected on his involvement:
"I am thrilled and deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this exciting project aimed at expanding ALT’s membership into under-represented sectors. This project presents a unique chance to apply innovative strategies, such as targeted marketing and customer persona development, to make a real impact. It’s particularly exciting to put into practice what I have learned in my 3 years through my marketing degree. I see this as more than just a project, it’s an opportunity to demonstrate my commitment to fostering connections, driving innovation, and delivering measurable results. I am ready to bring my skills, creativity, and dedication to ensure this initiative is a resounding success, building a stronger, more inclusive ALT community."
In December 2024, the students had the opportunity to present their project pitch to the ALT team and are now writing their business proposals. We look forward to learning more about how their insights and recommendations could contribute to the strategic goals of ALT. This collaboration symbolises our commitment to continuous improvement and to fostering a community where members can thrive, adapt, and lead in the rapidly evolving landscape of learning technology.
