ALT's OER20 Open Education Conference moves online

Dear Members

The Board of Trustees met on 12 March to review the situation of the OER20 Conference in light of the developing COVID-19 outbreak. 

The Board reviewed all aspects of the conference, our participants, speakers, sponsors and staff. We have come to the view that the risks we now face are so serious and complex that we have no effective way of mitigating against them and that for that reason we must cancel the face to face element of the OER20 conference and deliver part of the event as an online conference instead.

In brief, the online edition of the conference will run on the same dates as before, 1-2 April 2020, using the tried and tested model of ALT’s Online Winter Conference. Further information will be posted on the OER20 website

Fortunately, as a virtual and fully distributed organisation ALT is well placed to weather such situations and we continue to provide membership services and online events and meetings as usual.
