When we first launched the ALT Members’ Digest, it was designed as a simple collation of community news, hence the name. But as ALT has grown, so too has the richness and diversity of our membership. With the development of member groups, special interest groups, and a rapidly expanding calendar of events, the format and purpose of our weekly newsletter must evolve to keep pace.
Starting Monday, 15 September 2025, the ALT Members’ Digest will be refreshed and rebranded as the ALT Weekly Members Newsletter. This newly formatted edition will continue to deliver the latest in learning technology news, events, research, publications, and job opportunities, directly to ALT Members. The newsletter will continue to be sent out every Monday, unless it’s a bank holiday, in which case you can usually expect it on Tuesday. You can also stay up to date by visiting our news page.
What’s Changing and Why?
With a fresh new look and a focus on relevant content, here’s what’s driving the change:
- Better visibility of key dates: From submission deadlines to major events, we want to ensure members never miss a beat.
- Enhanced event promotion: With more events than ever, we’re creating space to spotlight what’s coming up and what’s just been added to the ALT Calendar.
- Improved structure and readability: A cleaner format makes it easier to scan, navigate, and engage with content.
- More targeted communication: By making the ALT Weekly Newsletter the main channel for regular updates, we’re reducing overall email frequency while creating space for more focused, timely emails, reserved for key announcements and specific member groups when it matters most.
How to Submit Community News
We welcome contributions from across the ALT community. Please note that inclusion of news in the newsletter is reserved for ALT members; other submissions may be featured at our discretion.

- Deadline: Midnight on Wednesday for inclusion in the following Monday’s newsletter
- Please follow the instructions carefully. Your attention to detail helps us edit and publish more efficiently
