Join the 2018 Annual Conference Committee

For ALT’s 25th Annual Conference we will bring together different critical perspectives in Learning Technology from across our community that will examine the challenges ahead and question the shape of things to come.

We are putting our values into practice and Members at the heart of the conference, so in this spirit the event will be chaired collaboratively by the Trustees of ALT, led by Sheila MacNeill and Martin Weller.

Call for expressions of interest to become an Editor for Research in Learning Technology

Research in Learning Technology is an international, quarterly, peer-reviewed journal devoted to research and good practice in the use of learning technologies. The journal is published by Co-Action Publishing on behalf of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) as an Open Access journal since 2012.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday, 14th June with Anant Argawal, President of edX and Professor at MIT,  Maren Deepwell, chief executive of ALT, highlighted the need for research into Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and the potential of technology for innovation in education.

ALT's Trustees are seeking an experienced Chair (or up to 3 Co-Chairs) for the 2015 Conference Programme Committee and its executive, who will play a major role in planning and delivery of ALT's 22nd annual conference in 2015. For information about previous and current ALT conferences, see

The 2013 ALT conference, “Building new cultures of learning” will be held at the University of Nottingham, 10th – 12th September 2013.

Join the Programme Committee

If you are a member of ALT, or affiliated with an institutional member or sister body of ALT, we would like to encourage you to apply to become a member of the Programme Committee for this conference. The role of Programme Committee member usually involves reviewing of papers and chairing up to 2 sessions at the conference.
