For ALT’s 25th Annual Conference we will bring together different critical perspectives in Learning Technology from across our community that will examine the challenges ahead and question the shape of things to come.
We are putting our values into practice and Members at the heart of the conference, so in this spirit the event will be chaired collaboratively by the Trustees of ALT, led by Sheila MacNeill and Martin Weller.

Since ALT's Open Access journal, Research in Learning Technology, has re-opened for submissions in July, eight original articles have been published and dozens of submissions received. We are now looking to approaching a steady state for the operation of the journal in partnership with Open Academia on the journal's new home.
Members will be pleased to see that ALT's Open Access journal, Research in Learning Technology, has now re-opened for submissions. Following the announcement that from June 2017 the journal will be published in partnership with Open Academia, we have now made the transition to the journal's new home.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday, 14th June with Anant Argawal, President of edX and Professor at MIT, Maren Deepwell, chief executive of ALT, highlighted the need for research into Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and the potential of technology for innovation in education.

The 2013 ALT conference, “Building new cultures of learning” will be held at the University of Nottingham, 10th – 12th September 2013.
If you are a member of ALT, or affiliated with an institutional member or sister body of ALT, we would like to encourage you to apply to become a member of the Programme Committee for this conference. The role of Programme Committee member usually involves reviewing of papers and chairing up to 2 sessions at the conference.
