We are proud to announce that the next OER Conference, ALT's annual conference for Open Education research, practice and policy, will be co-chaired by the Global OER Graduate Network. 

The Global OER Graduate Network (GO-GN) is a network of PhD and EdD candidates around the world whose research projects include a focus on open education (i.e. OER, OEP, MOOC). These doctoral researchers are at the core of the network; around them, over two hundred experts, supervisors, mentors and interested parties connect to form a community of practice.

In October a joint statement on access to e-book and e-textbook content was published by SCONUL in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), the #ebooksSOS campaign, Jisc, the National Acquisitions Group (NAG), Research Libraries UK (RLUK) and the UK purchasing consortia APUC and SUPC.

We are seeking experienced Co-Chairs for the 2022 Conference Committee of the 13th annual conference for Open Education research, practice and policy. The Co-Chairs will play a major role in planning and delivery of the conference in 2022.

OERxDomains Conference

Organised by the Association for Learning Technology and partnership with Reclaim Hosting’s Domains Conference, this special edition of the much loved event is the 12th annual conference for Open Education research, practice and policy. We are proud to incorporate a special strand hosted by the Domains Conference - bringing our two communities closer together in 2021.

The Board of Trustees met on 12 March to review the situation of the OER20 Conference in light of the developing COVID-19 outbreak. 

We are seeking experienced Co-Chairs for the 2021 Conference Committee of the 12th annual conference for Open Education research, practice and policy. Organised by the Association for Learning Technology in the UK, this is the 11th annual OER conference for Open Education research, practice and policy.The conference will be co-chaired by Mia Zamora, Daniel Villar-Onrubia and Jonathan Shaw.  Read more about the conference co-chairs.

This year ALT is represented at the Creative Commons Global Summit for the first time as part of a partnership between ALT and Creative Commons for the OER19 Conference, which took place in April.

We are delighted that as part of the celebration to mark the Open University's 50th anniversary, President of ALT, Professor Martin Weller, Professor of Educational Technology at The OU, will be speaking about:
