CMALT, ALT’s Certified Membership scheme, is a peer-based professional accreditation scheme developed by ALT to enable people whose work involves learning technology to:

  • have their experience and capabilities certified by peers

  • demonstrate that they are taking a committed and serious approach to their professional development.

ILTA and ALT are pleased to announce a new joint initiative to evaluate the CMALT programme in terms of personal professional development and appropriateness for the Irish TEL community. 
 
As part of this initiative we are offering 10 free places to ILTA Members to undertake CMALT and submit their portfolios for assessment by 1 February 2018. In return ILTA asks that ILTA Members wishing to participate commit to the following deliverables: 
1. That you co-author a report on your CMALT experience

Blended Learning Essentials course - new dates and new courses

Incorporating digital learning into teaching is becoming ever more important in all areas of education. We are excited to announce that the well-received Blended Learning Essentials course for the  Vocational Education and Training sector, commissioned by the Ufi Charitable Trust, will be offered again this year.

This week we are seeing the start of the Futurelearn course Blended Learning Essentials: Getting started - A free course for the Vocational Education and Training sector to promote effective practice and pedagogy in blended learning. The course is open to all and by the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • use a range of effective blended learning practices and pedagogies to improve your learners’ experience and attainment

ALT and ILTA working in partnership

This week sees the Annual Conference, #ilta2016, of the Irish Learning Technology Association. The conference brings together the Irish community and international delegates to share practice and research and celebrate the Jennifer Burke Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Call for expressions of interest to join the CMALT Development Group

ALT is looking to appoint up to three new members to the CMALT Development Group (CDG) for September 2013. We are particularly encouraging expressions of interest from individuals based outside the UK and those who have a background in Further Education and Adult Learning.

The CMALT Development Group was formed in 2010 to take an active part in the supporting of the scheme, its development and in directing activities for the CMALT community. The remit of the CDG is centred around the following activities:
