OER26 - Openness Reimagined: Continuity, Change and Shared Vision

22–23 June 2026
The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK

OER26 invites delegates to reimagine and re-theorise openness while honouring the enduring ethos that has shaped the movement since its earliest days. We aim to explore openness as a living, evolving project, one that must continually navigate the tensions between continuity and change. In doing so, we position openness as a collective endeavour requiring critical inquiry, practical innovation, and a sustained ethical commitment.

Conference themes include:

  • Openness Reimagined: Continuity, Change and Shared Vision
  • Sustaining the Ethos and Values of Open in a Changing Landscape
  • Open Educational Resources, Practices and Pedagogy
  • Open Research, Policy and Infrastructure

Attending OER26 offers a chance to connect with a vibrant, international community; share and develop open practices; and gain insights into how openness is being interpreted, enacted and transformed across sectors.
