Learning Technologist of the Year Awards 2020 - entries open until 2 September

The ALT Learning Technologist of the Year Awards celebrate and reward excellent research and practice and outstanding achievement in Learning Technology. Established in 2007, the Awards have established a benchmark for outstanding achievement in Learning Technology on a national scale and attract competitive entries from the UK and internationally. All entries are reviewed by an independent judging panel chaired by the President of ALT.

ALT awards Honorary Life Membership to individuals nominated by Members who have made an outstanding and sustained contribution to the advancement of ALT’s aims for the development of learning technology in a regional, national or international context through research, practice, policy-development, leadership, or a combination of these.

Are you supporting international students with Learning Technology? - We are seeking input from ALT Members for UUK

ALT are seeking input from Members on behalf of Universities UK (UUK), in a call for case studies. 

UUK are looking for case studies or examples of the following, where universities have:

  • Worked with overseas partners to manage a move to delivering in-country online learning (for international students who are not now in the UK, and may not be able to return in September)

Extraordinary Stories of Open and Online in the COVID-19 Era

Worldwide we have all been more than busy adjusting to changes in how we live and work all brought by the COVID-19 crisis. For educators, "pivoting" sounds a bit quaint for the mammoth efforts done in altering course delivery, adjusting schedules, adapting to working and learning away from our usual locales, and most importantly. addressing student needs.

Crisis support from ALT for Members

ALT has been working hard to support all of our Members during this crisis. Our members are under exceptional pressure as institutions implement social distancing measures within learning and teaching. Over the past month, we have set up a number of additional support features for our Members.

Annual Conference 2020 Call for Proposals closing soon

The call for proposals for the Annual Conference 2020 is still open. 

We are continuing to plan for the conference both in person and online. We are reviewing the situation weekly and we expect to continue this approach until May at which time we will review further. 

The deadline for the Call for Proposals for ALT’s Annual Conference 2020 is 30 April 2020.
