ALT Online Programmes Special Interest Group

Who are we?

The Online Programmes Special Interest Group was established in September 2025. The Online Programmes SIG provides a collaborative platform within ALT for members involved in the design, delivery, and management of online learning programmes. The SIG supports ALT’s mission to advance education through digital technology by fostering dialogue, sharing practice, and promoting innovation in online education.

Our remit      

  • To create a community of practice for ALT members with a shared interest in online programmes;

  • To explore and disseminate effective practices in online pedagogy, curriculum design, and learner engagement;

  • To identify and respond to sector-wide challenges and opportunities in online education;

  • To contribute to ALT’s strategic priorities through thought leadership and collaborative initiatives;

  • To support professional development and capacity building among members.

In common with ALT Members Groups and SIGs this group will :

  • Support activities in line with ALT’s strategic aims
  • Share ALT’s values of being participative, open, collaborative, innovative, inclusive and transparent
