Obituary

The Learning Technology community was shocked and truly saddened to hear of the passing in December of Lesley Diack, Professor of Transdisciplinary and Technology Enhanced Learning at the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at the Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen.  Lesley had retired from her position in 2019 but was still active in a variety of academic pursuits including her role as Editor in Chief of ALT's journal, Research in Learning Technology.

It is with the deepest of sadness that the ALT community learned of the untimely passing of Emeritus Professor Mark Stiles.

Mark was an early pioneer of learning technologies in the Vocational, Further and Higher Education sectors, indeed when appointed Professor of ‘e Learning’ by Staffordshire University he was one of the very first to carry such a title. He was a strong advocate for the potential technology for good and to improve learning and life chances for all.
