Time:   10:30
Venue:   Aston Business School - Birmingham
Presenter(s):   See programmes below
Description:

A one day event to disseminate the work of the JISC-funded eReturn project

10.30 to 16.00 on Wednesday 25 February 2009, at the Aston Business School in central Birmingham

NB. this was originally a two day event. Due to insufficient uptake on Tuesday 24 February this 'day' is no longer going to run. Instead, a workshop on Tuesday's topic of Interoperability has been programmed in the afternoon of Wednesday 25 February. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note that the booking system is now closed for this event. Please contact Anna Davidge, ALT's Administration Officer, should you wish to attend.

The eReturn project is led by the Open University, in partnership with the UK Resource Centre for Women in SET (UKRC), Cardiff Women’s Workshop (CWW), the University of Salford, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), Centre for Science Education, and ALT.

The eReturn partnership has been working with the Open Source “MyStuff” e-portfolio to support cross-institutional delivery of lifelong learning for women returners in their transition to employment.

Wednesday 25 February: ePortfolios and employability
Whether you are an educator, learning technologist, or just interested in how ePortfolios can help support returners back into employment, this event will provide the opportunity to discuss a range of issues about working with ePortfolios across institutions. You will hear more about the eReturn project and how ePortfolios have been used within our national partnership, from the perspective of educators, employers, careers advisors as well as learners themselves.

Our focus is on using ePortfolios within technical and scientific disciplines especially with women returning after a career break, but this will be of general interest to anyone working in this area who is interested in ePortfolios and how they can support lifelong learners across institutions.

The event will be opened by Julia King, Vice Chancellor of Aston University, and speakers will include Lisa Gray, who has been leading JISC’s work on ePortfolios, as well as ePortfolio practitioners and learners.
