The countdown is on, ALTC25 is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to unveil our keynote line-up for the conference on 23–24 October 2025. These sessions bring together bold thinkers and changemakers in education, technology, inclusion, and leadership, and they promise to challenge, inspire, and energise.
ALTC25 Keynotes you won’t want to miss
Being a Leader, Not an Algorithm: Human Skills for an AI‑Shaped Future
Thursday 23 October, 09:30
Dr Charles Knight (Director of Leadership, Governance and Management, Advance HE) will examine the human side of leadership in a world shaped by AI. He’ll challenge assumptions about technology as the default solution, and surface what uniquely human skills we need to thrive in the changing educational landscape.
Student Panel: Beyond the Myth of the Digital Native
Thursday 23 October, 13:45
Join this panel to hear directly from students as they challenge the assumption that all learners arrive digitally literate. They will share which digital skills they bring, where they need more support, and how AI is shaping their learning journeys.
Engaging Learning: Rethinking Inclusion with Insights from the Margins
Friday 24 October, 09:30
Dr Gabi Witthaus (Senior Learning Designer, University of Birmingham & Research Fellow, UCL) will draw on her work with displaced and marginalised communities to propose inclusive design practices for online learning. She will focus on engagement across cognitive, behavioural, social, and emotional dimensions, and offer strategies to build more equitable learning environments.
These keynotes align perfectly with the ALTC25 theme, Stronger Foundations, Broader Horizons, encouraging us to think critically about how we design, lead, and foster inclusion in an increasingly hybrid, AI-shaped world.
With less than a month to go, now’s the time to secure your spot. Join us for two days of connection, insight, and inspiration.
We can’t wait to welcome you in October.
