CMALT workshops

CMALT home | FAQs |

ALT run occasional workshops to help individuals and organisations interested in CMALT for recognition of individuals' learning technology professional skills and experience. A series of regional events were held over the summer 2008, supported as part of the JISC funded scheme for CMALT applications.

Further online webinars will be announced through 2009.

Organisations and groups may request a workshop if they are putting forward 10 or more applicants. These may be held face to face or online via webinar. Please contact the ALT Office to discuss your specific needs.

Aims of the CMALT workshop

The workshops introduce the CMALT scheme and explore participants' professional development in relation to their learning technology role and the benefits of CMALT recognition. Whether in person or online, it is an opportunity to collaborate with others interested in working towards CMALT. Individual queries may be made directly to the CMALT Certification Manager (contact details below).

Our target audience for these workshops includes people:

  • with learning technology as a core part of their role;
  • who manage learning technologists;
  • who have organisational responsibility for training and development.

The workshop will be an introduction to CMALT. It will be suitable for people who have never thought about CMALT before, as well as for anyone who has already made a start on producing an application. The workshop will be run on open, participative lines, with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

Please note that places are very limited and although ALT is not charging a fee for CMALT workshops, if you book a place and fail to turn up you are depriving a fellow learning technologist of the opportunity.

You can request ALT to send you a CMALT pack, which includes the CMALT prospectus, guidelines and application form, by emailing to cmalt@alt.ac.uk with your full name and postal address. Institutions and organisations may request multiple packs for internal promotion purposes. Please contact the Certification Manager in the first instance with details of your interest, who can arrange for packs to be sent to you and possibly arrange a CMALT workshop at your organisation.
