Online learning beyond the technology: Reconceptualising online engagement

Registration is closed for this event

ALT is pleased to announce a follow-up webinar to the recent blog post by Gabi Witthaus, "When the VLE becomes your campus: some thoughts on engaging learners online

Transitioning from face-to-face teaching to online teaching provides opportunities for innovation alongside a range of challenges. Educators within this space move across a continuum of practice as they negotiate changing contexts, new technologies, and the resulting pedagogical implications. As educators reconceptualise student learning online, they must consider their pedagogical practices and what they might do to enhance students engagement in their learning and with their learning community. While we are currently physically distancing ourselves from our students, it is essential to ensure opportunities for connectedness. Research shows that online presence is the most critical factor contributing to student retention. This interactive webinar shares effective practice concepts related to online engagement and invites audience participation and questions.
