DESCRIPTION:Openness Reimagined: Continuity\, Change and Share
d Vision\n \n Sustaining the ethos and values of o
 pen in a changing landscape\n \n \n 22-23 June 202
 6 (Milton Keynes\, UK)\n \n \n Open education has
always been both a practice and a proposition. It
is grounded in commitments to access\, equity\, co

blic good. Over decades\, these commitments have t
aken institutional form through open educational r
 esources\, open practices\, open pedagogy\, open r
esearch\, open access publishing\, and global netw
orks of collaboration. Openness has shaped learnin
 g systems\, expanded participation\, and redefined
  what education can be.\n \n \n \n OER26 invites d
elegates to reimagine and re-theorise openness whi
le recognising the enduring ethos that has sustain
ed the movement from its earliest days.\n \n \n \n
Hosted by the Institute of Educational Technology
at The Open University (UK)\, widely recognised a

he principle that education should be open to peop
le\, places\, methods\, and ideas. Its history rem
inds us that openness represents and constitutes a
n ongoing\, transformative ethical and social comm
itment. Bringing the conference to this setting un
derscores both continuity and change: continuity i
n the enduring values of openness\, and change in
 the technological\, political\, and institutional
environments in which those values are enacted. \n
  \n \n \n OER26 will foster dialogue across discip
lines and regions\, welcoming diverse interpretati
ons of what openness means and what it might becom
 e. Our call for proposals welcomes contributions t
hat explore how the ethos of openness is sustained
 \, challenged\, institutionalised\, or transformed
  in the current moment.\n \n \n \n Cochairs \n \n
