Conference timetable

The conference timetable has links to all abstracts and can be viewed by theme as well as by time.

Overview

The growth and spread of current e-learning research and development has led to settled and well established areas of knowledge and expertise in a variety of domains as well as a number of unexplored or undeveloped areas. This year's conference aims to focus on the challenges and opportunities presented by these frontiers and in particular to explore:

  • how we cross the borders between domains;
  • where the boundaries of knowledge and expertise lie;
  • which groups or sectors can effect migration towards new frontiers and outposts as well as cross-fertilisation.

Themes

The conference programme includes research papers, short papers, symposia, workshops, demonstrations, and posters. We invited papers and abstracts for these under the following 5 themes:

  • design and development;
  • quality and standards;
  • architectures and infrastructures;
  • implementation (including staff and organisational development);
  • collaboration (including cross-sectoral partnerships).

The conference is for established practitioners and researchers from all sectors involved in e-learning, as well as for those interested in benefiting from introducing technologies at all levels of education. We are particularly keen to encourage participation form Further Education and Adult and Community Learning.

Research papers will be published in the peer-reviewed Proceedings of ALT-C 2005.
