Academic ProgrammeOverviewTo reflect the growth and diversity of learning technology as a research and development area, the 2004 conference focuses on future directions, in terms both of the technologies themselves, and of their impact on learning and teaching, organisational structures, and individual roles and responsibilities. The conference aims to reflect the diversity but also to take a critical stance as to future directions and implications. The overarching title of the conference is Blue skies and pragmatism: learning technologies for the next decade. ThemesThe academic programme will include research papers, short papers, symposiums, workshops, demonstrations, and posters under the following 8 themes:
The conference is for established practitioners and researchers, as well as for those interested in introducing technologies at all levels of education. We are particularly keen to encourage participation form the Further Education and the Adult and Community Learning 'sectors'. For the third year running the conference welcomes research papers for publication in the peer-reviewed Proceedings of ALT-C 2004 (this will be allocated an ISBN). |
