David Dyet is the ICT Systems Manager at Reid Kerr College, Paisley where he has responsibility for the development and management of integrated learning and business systems. He has a particular interest in using ICT to enhance the student experience from initial enquiry to graduation and beyond. Since joining the College sector in 1994 he has also held the positions of ICLT Manager, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer.As a Senior lecturer he led the development of HND and HNC qualification in eCommerce. He has also participated in a wide range of funded learning technology projects as a team member, consultant, project manager and project director. Between 2005 and 2007 he was project director for the £1,000,000 BlendEd project which was funded by the Scottish Funding Council under its eLearning Transformation Programme. He has also served on a wide range of sectoral committees including the ALT Further Education Committee which he joined in 2005.

David was first coopted as a Trustee of ALT in 2009.

Ann Hill

Ann has worked in further and higher education for most of her career and commenced her career as a Chartered Librarian, going on to manage learning resources and educational technology services at Doncaster College and lecturing part time. In 2007, she was promoted to the post of Director of Learning and Information Services which included managing e-learning and learning technologies across the College. She also enjoyed responsibility for setting up the first College based Children's University in the UK. Ann is an IQER Reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency, a peer reviewer for the Council of Learning Resources in Colleges and sits on 2 national committees for the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.In her current role she has responsiblity for staff development for over 1000 staff, as well as teaching and learning technologies.

Claire Donlan is Head of Learning Resources at Middlesbrough College. Her role involves managing the e-Learning team and the Learning Resources Centre and Library Services. This also includes a cross college responsibility for e-Learning & ICT strategy. She is particularly interested in ensuring accessibility to high quality resources for all learners and staff through a wide variety of technologies including the VLE, e-books, 3D systems, mobile apps and the use of social networking for education.

I have worked in Further Education since 1984, as a lecturer and in the last 10 years in the development of e-learning. 1 day a week I have been working on JISC Support and Synthesis projects, including the Learner Experience of e-Learning (2005-2009)and recently on the Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development Projects (2009-2001).

James Clay is and has been passionate about the use of learning technologies to enhance and enrich the learning experience since 1991.
James Clay has been ILT & Learning Resources Manager at Gloucestershire College since November 2006. He is responsible for the VLE, the use of learning technologies, e-learning, mobile learning, the libraries, digital and online resources and the strategic direction of the college in relation to the use of learning technologies.
James was ALT Learning Technologist of the Year in 2009.

My background was once upon a time in the hospitality business and around 1990 I began my teaching career at Glasgow College of Food Technology. I lectured there until joining the RSC in 2002 having been seconded during the previous 3 years there to an eLearning project run by the Glasgow Telecolleges Network (a consortium of 10 city centre andcommunity colleges in the Strathclyde region).
I joined the JISC RSC in the early stages of the service development as curriculum advisor for Scotland south & west and I am currently advisor for curriculum and depute manager for the now single Scottish JISC Regional Support Centre.

Karen is the Learning and Technologies Manager for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s commercial training unit. Karen has led the unit in integrating web technologies into a wide range of blended learning solutions. Karen works closely with subject matter experts in designing a range of qualifications with a strong emphasis on collaborative online learning.

Nick Jeans

I have 22 years’ experience of teaching and 13 years of developing and delivering CPD for teachers with BECTA and LSN in Staff Development workshops for Colleges and schools.
I am a member of the Further Education Committee of ALT and a Lead Assessor of the CMALT scheme. I am a member of JISC's Learning and Teaching Practice Experts Group and an Accredited Trainer for JISC Techdis. I have a particular interest in the design of learning spaces and in using IT for Inclusion – for leaning difficulties and to engage young people not in Employment, Education or Training (NEETs).
 

Peter Gwilliam

Peter's background is in teaching Mathematics - primarily at level 3 these days. He still teaches a 0.5 timetable in a large FE college. The remainder of his role involves helping the college to harness Learning Technologies and create smooth interactions with information systems. In particular at the moment he is overseeing the migration from Blackboard to Moodle.

I trained in Agriculture, and since 1992 have taught a wide range of land based subjects from Computer application & control to Pesticides. I was inspired by the Becta ILT champions programme, and have spent the last 10 years promoting the use of ILT, most recently at Becta as Senior Architect for Digital Learning. I now manage the JISC Innovation Grants in Scotland Wales and Northern Irish FE, and work on technical standards such as XCRI and Leap2A. In my spare time I build robots, publish a webcomic run a freelance illustration business, and grow prize winning onions on my allotment.

Sarah Williams is IT Learning and Services Manager at Yale College in Wrexham. She has 18 years of experience working in the FE sector in Wales and England, mainly in the fields of ILT and e-learning, but also as a lecturer teaching IT, Music and Initial Teacher Training. She is currently a member of the steering group of LearnTech Wales, a Colleges Wales network group which she has chaired in the past.
